A personal note from Ales!
Isaac, my son, and I just got back from 7 days on the beautiful island of Oahu.
We had been there a few times previously but usually only for a couple of days before heading to one of the other islands like Maui or Kauai.
This time we decided to spend in a nice little boutique hotel right in Waikiki and discover places we haven’t been to yet on previous trips which was a great experience for both of us.
Some of the things we did was hiking up Diamond Head, snorkeling in Hanauma Bay, visiting Iolani Palace in Honolulu where we learnt so much about Hawaii’s history, which has always fascinated me and we spent a nice afternoon in the Valley of the Temples on the island’s Windward side.
It was a great trip and spending uninterrupted time together was just priceless.
We are now planning our next big adventure which will be taking us to some of South East Asia’s exciting countries towards the end of this year and I thought it’s only fitting that I share about one of my favorite resorts on the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia in this newsletter.
Enjoy!

I am amazed at how much Bali has grown in popularity over the years, yet it is a place where you are still able to experience peace and quiet in most parts of the island.
One very well visited area is Ubud, which is also known as the cultural center of the island and especially those of us who enjoy anything to do with nourishing our mind, body and soul can appreciate the wonderful places that can be found here to practice mindfulness, yoga, meditation as well as enjoy healthy foods and wonderful accommodations in beautiful surroundings.
One of my favorite small resorts here is the Health and Wellbeing Spa Retreat, Bagus Jati.
It’s in a breathtaking setting with impeccable service and great accommodation choices but what really stands out is how much it offers its visitors in terms of health and wellness
This resort was created with a vision to bring health and vitality into your life. It offers a global palate of world class health and wellbeing programs, covering: Nutrition, Detox, Yoga, Meditation, Stress Relief, Anti-aging Programs, Nature Trekking and Healthy Cooking Workshops.
You can join in or just enjoy the beautiful surroundings and it is everyone’s individual choice how much or how little they’d like to do.
Some of the daily activities that are included are nature walks, yoga, meditation, aqua aerobics and even classes on how to make “Canang”, a daily offering made by Balinese Hindus, which is a wonderful way to experience a part of the Balinese Hinduism culture.
Other optional activities are:
- A Balinese Cooking Class which begins with a visit to the farm fields and spice garden.
- Jungle Trekking.
- A special visit to Taro Village to introduce you to the Balinese lifestyle. This village is also home of the sacred white cows.
- An early morning trekking tour along Mount Batur from where you will experience a breathtaking sunrise.
- A visit to the Gunung Kawi Sebatu, a beautiful Holy Spring temple in a quiet surrounding.
- Experience a Balinese Purification Ritual “Melukat” and Blessing.
……and much, much more.
All these experience will allow you to immerse yourself in the Balinese culture and make your stay on the island of Gods an unforgettable journey.
Set in 5 hectares of hillside gardens amongst lush tropical forests in the mountains near Ubud, Bali, the Bagus Jati, provides accommodations ranging from Deluxe Spa Villas to spacious 2 bedroom pool villas which you will never want to leave.
Whenever I arrange travel to Bali, I always recommend to also visit other parts of the island, if your time frame allows, like Pemuteran in the North West or Seminyak for a relaxing stay by the beach to give you a wide range of experiences and to make the most of your time in this amazing place.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like more information on the Bagus Jati Resort & Spa as well as wish to have an amazing itinerary, to visit this part of the world, created by me.
