A personal note from Ales!
I very often get requests for an “off the beaten path” and “authentic” travel experience.
Today’s travelers don’t want to just go to the usual tourist sites, they also want to feel that they are part of the culture and what daily life is like at their destination.
Some think that it is necessary to get to a place no-one has ever been, which of course is almost impossible nowadays and for me an authentic travel experience can be had almost anywhere, even in most popular destinations like London, Rome, Sydney, Hong Kong or Honolulu.
In the end it is really up to you how authentic your travel experience is going to be and how willing you are to let go of the way you are living your life back home and give in to the flow of life at your travel destination.
This month I’d like to share a place in one of Europe’s most traveled to countries, a place I absolutely love and believe will give you an unforgettable experience.

The country is Italy and the hotel is the beautiful Le Boscarecce Country Inn, in magnificent Tuscany.
This property is a 200 year old farmhouse and its barn which has been completely restored in 1996. Situated on a panoramic hill it commands amazing views over the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside and allows you to experience some of the most breathtaking sunsets over the Apennines.
The Le Boscarecce is only half an hour drive from Florence as well as to some of the most picturesque towns and villages in the area, like San Gimignano, Siena and Pisa.
I believe that one of its greatest assets however is Susanna, the owner of this charming hotel. Together with her family she strives to give visitors a true Tuscan experience and very soon you will feel like you are part of the family. She takes lovingly care of the 14 rooms which are all named after famous literary or historical female figures and prepares an amazing breakfast every day which is the perfect start to an amazing day in Tuscany.
She will be happy to have a cooking lesson at the villa, teaching you all the little secrets that make each meal a real Italian culinary pleasure.
One of her daughters will share with you how to pair different kinds of cheeses with wines and how to choose the right kind of wine according to the food you are eating and another of her daughters will be happy to teach you some Italian phrases which will help you to visit the local market and buy your own groceries or go to the Cafe in the village and order your Cappuccino in Italian.
You will also have the opportunity to experience wine tasting with a sommelier at a local winery, which will be private and just for you.
The Le Boscarecce is in a central location in Tuscany from where it is easy to visit surrounding towns like Assisi, Perugia, Civita di Bagnoregio and even go as far as the breathtaking villages of Cinque Terre.
Staying here for a few days will give you one of the most authentic experiences you can have in this amazing country.
If you would like more information on this or other “off the beaten” path accommodations in Europe, please feel free to contact me. I’d be more than happy to create a most memorable journey for you.
